A new global campaign is offering five travel planners a getaway they do not have to organise themselves.
The competition is being organised by Asia Pacific experiences platform Klook.
The initiative follows Klook’s research involving 2,725 travellers across 10 markets, which found travel planning ranks among the least thanked tasks people perform for others.
More than eight in 10 travel planners surveyed said they spend more than 10 hours organising a single group trip, with respondents valuing that work at more than $70 an hour.
The research also suggests many planners struggle to relinquish control. When someone else takes over, more than 42% said they still quietly monitor arrangements, checking details and preparing to step in if needed.
Typical responsibilities can range from researching and booking activities to maintaining itineraries, coordinating group chats and keeping fellow travellers across departure times and other logistics.
Marcus Yong, Klook VP of Global Marketing, said the campaign was designed to recognise the work often carried out behind the scenes.
“We built Klook to make travel planning simpler, so travellers can spend less time on admin and more time on experiences,” Mr Yong said.
“Now we’re taking that promise one step further with a fully-planned getaway for five travel planners who always get travel right for their friends and families. It’s their turn to take a vacation from planning vacations.”
The campaign runs until August 31 with the five winners receiving a seven-day hosted trip to Switzerland in December.
To enter, nominate the travel planner in your life (or yourself) by telling Klook about a time they kept the whole trip together.
For bonus points, upload a 60-second video or share a link (TikTok, YouTube, or Google Drive) showing them in action.
