Staying three nights at the Hyatt Regency Brisbane, I found the experience both relaxed and polished, ideal for either work or leisure. The hotel occupies a prime location on Queen Street Mall, on the historic site of the former Lennons Hotel, a central base for exploring Brisbane’s vibrant shopping and dining scene.
My room on the eighteenth floor was spacious and cleverly designed. The open bathroom concept, enclosed only by sliding doors, created a sense of flow and space, perfect for a solo traveller. The king size bed was as comfortable as expected, and generous storage made the room feel organised yet homely. I particularly appreciated the abundance of power outlets, including those within easy reach of the bed. The air conditioning was easy to control using the wall display, though the lighting system seemed either everything on or everything off, which was fine by me.
The large shower came stocked with quality amenities such as shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotion, while a thoughtful welcome gift of salted caramels and a chocolate dessert on the second evening added a personal touch. Entertainment options included free to air television and the ability to cast devices to the in room screen, and the free wifi was fast and reliable.
Housekeeping did not follow a set schedule, meaning I missed the full service twice while working in the room, but this was a minor inconvenience easily outweighed by the comfort and convenience of the stay.

Breakfast at Lennons, the relaxed restaurant beside reception on the upper ground floor, was a highlight. The buffet offered a wide choice of fresh items including tropical fruit (the mango was outstanding), baked goods, cooked breakfasts, smoked salmon, avocado, yoghurt and muesli, all accompanied by barista coffee. It was an excellent way to begin the day.
On the fourth floor, the Hibiscus Bar and Restaurant creates a lively poolside atmosphere, perfect for evening cocktails. The rooftop pool is long enough for laps and offers city views, with dense vegetation giving welcome privacy from the bar area. The nearby gym, though small, includes the essentials for a satisfying workout.
A final touch worth mentioning is the refreshment area near reception, where guests can help themselves to free flow still or sparkling water, iced tea or fruit. In the evenings, jars of lollies appear for those with a sweet tooth.
Overall, the Hyatt Regency Brisbane combines smart design with genuine hospitality. Whether travelling for business or pleasure, it is an excellent choice in the centre of Brisbane.
