Hot on the heels of Qantas Domestic Sale, Virgin Australia has kicked off a cheeky new domestic sale, slinging one-way Economy Lite fares from just $45 as part of its “It’d Be Roo’d Not To” campaign. The headline fare applies on Sydney–Ballina (Byron Bay), with a wide range of popular leisure routes discounted across the network.
The limited-time sale runs until 11:59pm AEST on Monday 16 February 2026, with sale seats available to top holiday favourites including Byron Bay, the Gold Coast, Cairns, Hamilton Island and the Sunshine Coast. Lead-in one-way Economy Lite fares, valid in both directions, start from $45 between Sydney and Ballina (Byron Bay), $69 between Sydney and the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast, and $69 between Melbourne and Launceston.
The sale applies to selected travel dates between April and December 2026 and is subject to availability and fare conditions.
Jetstar has also unveiled a five-day sale on all its Northern Territory routes, with one-way fares starting from $115 to Darwin and Uluru.
The sale covers all seven of the low-cost carrier’s domestic routes into the Top End and Red Centre, with discounted seats available from today. Fares in the NT Sale start from $115 one-way, including Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Uluru, with other routes such as Sydney–Uluru, Gold Coast–Darwin, Adelaide–Darwin, Brisbane–Darwin, Melbourne–Darwin and Sydney–Darwin also discounted.
The promotion also features Jetstar’s Gold Coast to Darwin route, which the airline has confirmed will return for a second year. The route will operate three times a week, providing more than 23,000 seats across the season. Jetstar says the sale is designed to encourage more Australians to “take off more for less” and experience the Top End and Red Centre, building on increased capacity into Darwin across key routes in 2026.
