Crystalbrook Collection has appointed Kelvin Dodt as General Manager of Crystalbrook Sam, the group’s first South Australian property, ahead of the luxury hotel’s opening in Adelaide later this year.

“He has an exceptional track record leading major hotel openings, building high-performing teams and delivering outstanding guest experiences, making him the ideal person to lead Crystalbrook Sam,” said Geoff York, Crystalbrook Collection CEO.

Mr Dodt joins from The Star Brisbane, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and led the pre-opening of the $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf development.

His career also includes senior leadership roles with The Star Entertainment Group, Accor and Mirvac Hotels and Resorts.

Mr Dodt said Adelaide’s hospitality scene continued to go from strength to strength.

“Opening a new hotel is a rare opportunity and Crystalbrook Sam is set to become one of Adelaide’s most exciting new hospitality destinations. I’m looking forward to introducing Crystalbrook’s style of contemporary luxury to South Australia,” he added.

Located on Halifax Street in Adelaide’s CBD, Crystalbrook Sam will feature 196 rooms and suites, a level 12 restaurant and bar with panoramic views across the city and Adelaide Hills, Eléme Day Spa, a gym, sauna, pool, ground-floor café and bar and flexible meetings and events spaces.

The hotel is scheduled to open in late 2026.
