Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled Norwegian Aura and opened the ship for sale, confirming it will be the largest vessel in the line’s fleet. The ship is set to debut in Europe in late May 2027 before moving to Miami, where it will homeport from June 2027.

At almost 345 metres long and 169,000 gross tonnes, Norwegian Aura will carry 3,840 guests at double occupancy. NCL says the ship will be around 10% larger than Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, with a stronger focus on space, flow and outdoor living designed around family friendly cruising.

A headline addition is Ocean Heights, an open air activities complex spanning decks 18 to 21 that is designed to shift from daytime adventure to a more relaxed evening atmosphere.

NCL is also promising expanded pool decks, including what it says will be the largest pool deck in the fleet, plus a larger LED screen, extra open lounge areas and an additional infinity hot tub. The adults only Vibe Beach Club will also be larger, with more seating, infinity hot tubs and expanded relaxation zones.

The ship’s Ocean Boulevard outdoor promenade will be extended compared with other Prima Class ships, adding more seating as well as new hot tubs and a new bar. NCL is also building out dedicated family zones, including children’s play areas and teen spaces along the forward end of the ship.

Accommodation will span 1,976 staterooms from studios to suites, including 159 suites within The Haven. NCL says The Haven will offer 30% more suites than previous Prima Class ships, with private lift access, a dedicated sundeck and premium dining and lounge spaces.

Norwegian Aura’s inaugural European sailing is scheduled for 21 May 2027, operating a seven day Mediterranean itinerary from Trieste to Barcelona via Valletta, Salerno and Rome (Civitavecchia).

After a transatlantic crossing, the ship will begin seven day Caribbean cruises from Miami, with itineraries including calls to Great Stirrup Cay and Harvest Caye.
