Uniworld Boutique River Cruises will celebrate its 50th anniversary throughout 2026, marking five decades since the company was founded in 1976 and positioning the milestone year as both a guest focused celebration and a showcase of new product.
The brand says it has helped shape modern luxury river cruising through early European operations, guest led ship design and ongoing sustainability initiatives.
Uniworld also points to a range of industry firsts and signature concepts introduced over the years, including personal butler service, its Super Ship fleet, longer itineraries, all inclusive pricing, onboard wellness trainers, Cruise and Rail journeys, MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® experiences, Mystery Cruises and its Rivers of the World voyages.
“Everything we do begins with our guests,” said Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld.
“For 50 years, we’ve listened closely, evolved alongside our travellers and continually raised the bar for what luxury river cruising can be. This anniversary is both a celebration of how far we’ve come and an exciting look at where we’re headed next.”
For the 2026 European season, Uniworld says every sailing will feature a Golden Party, an evening celebration recognising 50 years on Europe’s rivers, alongside other anniversary touches rolled out across the year.
To coincide with the celebrations, Uniworld has launched a 50th Anniversary Sale offering up to 30% off select 2026 departures, aimed at both repeat guests and first time river cruisers.
Uniworld will also introduce the S.S. Emilie, its first new build since 2021. The 154 passenger Super Ship will sail the Danube across eight European itineraries and is inspired by Austrian painter Gustav Klimt, taking its name from his muse Emilie Flöge. The ship features Art Nouveau influences, jewel tone interiors, gold accents, a one of a kind restaurant and lounge and a new two bedroom suite configuration.
In 2026, Uniworld will add two new Mystery Cruise departures, plus a Grand Mystery Cruise combining both sailings. The anniversary year also includes a 50 night Rivers of the World cruise spanning three continents across four ships, along with additional Generations Collection family sailings and further itinerary updates.
Looking ahead, Uniworld has flagged its biggest expansion to date in 2027 with four ships and six itineraries. Planned additions include three new Super Ship builds, the S.S. Audrey, S.S. Marlene and S.S. São Rafael, plus sailings aboard the Aqua Blu, marking Uniworld’s debut in Singapore and Indonesia.
For the Australia and New Zealand trade, Bettridge is set to visit in February to present the Golden 50th anniversary program to travel agents across both markets.
