Club Med has opened bookings for its new resort, marking the brand’s first-ever property in one of Asia’s most off the beaten path destinations.

Set to welcome guests from November 16, Club Med Borneo is in Kuala Penyu, where rainforest meets the ocean, offering a premium all-inclusive escape 90 minutes from Kota Kinabalu.

Following the success of Club Med Cherating, it becomes the brand’s second Malaysian property

With 400 rooms, immersive wildlife experiences (including orangutan encounters) and a strong sustainability focus, the opening marks a major milestone for Club Med.

The launch taps into growing demand for experience-rich travel, particularly in emerging destinations, while delivering the ease of an all-inclusive holiday.

From curated wildlife excursions and river cruises to elevated dining and beachfront relaxation, Club Med Borneo offers Aussie travellers an opportunity to explore one of Asia’s most pristine and captivating destinations.

“Club Med Borneo represents a major milestone for the brand and reflects our continued commitment to delivering premium, sustainable experiences in extraordinary destinations,” said Michelle Davies, General Manager for Club Med Pacific and New ESAP Markets.

“From wildlife encounters and river cruises to world-class dining and thoughtfully designed spaces, it is a destination that invites guests to explore, unwind and reconnect with nature in absolute comfort.”

From a sweeping infinity pool that merges with the horizon to a family-friendly Splash Park, guests can enjoy a variety of water experiences.

Dining options range from the vibrant buffet at the Alam to the upscale Laut, and the social hub Pasir, where mixologists craft tropical cocktails.

The Spa offers individual tropical chalets tucked deep within the forest, providing a serene escape with sunlit treatment rooms and tranquil walkways.

Guests can visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where orphaned and injured orangutans are nurtured and taught essential jungle survival skills.

Closer to the resort seethe Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, home to playful proboscis monkeys returning daily to feeding platforms in protected mangroves; and the Sun Bear Rehabilitation Centre, which cares for rescued bears and prepares them for life back in the wild.

Travel agents can secure up to 20% off a range of sought-after destinations for their clients when travelling between November 27 and May 28, 2028, with the second opening of Club Med’s Early Bird Sale 2027.
