Windstar Cruises has completed a full transformation of Wind Star, the 148-guest sailing yacht that helped pioneer modern yacht-style cruising when it debuted 40 years ago.
Stijn Creupelandt, Windstar Cruises Chief Operating Officer, said the transformation honoured the yacht’s legacy.
“As our original sailing yacht, Wind Star has always held a special place in our fleet. With these significant updates, we’ve honoured what guests love most while elevating every aspect of the experience,” Mr Creupelandt said.
The completion of Phase 2 brings a comprehensive redesign to the yacht’s dining venues, with signature restaurant Amphora fully reimagined with new flooring, wall finishes, custom banquette seating and updated furnishings.
Veranda has also been refreshed with a completely reimagined buffet layout. Stateroom updates include new upholstered headboards, integrated lighting and bedside charging, building on earlier Phase 1 enhancements including Starlink connectivity and a redesigned Owner’s Suite.

Earlier upgrades transformed the lobby, Compass Rose Lounge, Yacht Club Café, pool deck, World Spa and fitness centre, with commissioned artwork, new teak decking and state-of-the-art audio systems completing the transformation.
Following her current Mediterranean season, Wind Star will join Star Breeze in French Polynesia from 2027, operating year-round sailings on the seven-day ‘Dreams of Tahiti’ itinerary.
The broader Setting Sails refurbishment programme continues across the Wind Class fleet, with Wind Surf scheduled to complete Phase 2 in December 2026 and Wind Spirit in March 2027.
