A major refurbishment at a Bintan Island resort has introduced redesigned rooms, new family spaces and upgraded dining, with further enhancements planned through 2027.

Club Med Bintan has completed the latest phase of its transformation following a 47% year-on-year increase in sales from the Pacific market in 2026.

The resort is located a short ferry ride from Singapore and is targeting families, multigenerational groups and travellers combining Bintan with a city stay.

Michelle Davies, Club Med General Manager Pacific and New ESAP Markets, said the renovations formed part of the brand’s move towards a fully upscale portfolio.

“Guests can enjoy the same Club Med experience they know and love, now in a more premium setting, with thoughtful enhancements designed to make time together even more memorable,” Ms Davies said.

Superior, deluxe and suite accommodation has been redesigned with natural materials and Indonesian inspired textures, alongside the introduction of new deluxe themed rooms.

Family additions include a new Splash Pad and Asia’s first Amazing Family! Hub, a 300-square-metre indoor space offering play areas, interactive games, activities and lounge zones. New discovery trails around the resort have also been introduced for families.

The resort’s food and beverage offering now includes the refreshed Panorama Barista Bar and Terrace Gourmet Club, while further additions planned through 2027 include upgraded kids club spaces, a new Grill Gourmet Club restaurant and an air conditioned Zen Zone.

More than 20 sports and activities are available across the property, including flying trapeze, archery, padel, pickleball and water sports.

The refurbishment also incorporates sustainability initiatives including the elimination of single-use plastics, an on-site turtle conservation program and a food waste reduction system. The resort is Green Globe Certified.
