Atlas Ocean Voyages is expanding its ‘Fly the Drake’ options for the 2027/28 Antarctica season.
Six departures across two bypass itineraries give travellers more time on the White Continent and less at sea.
A $US2,000 flight credit per couple is available for bookings made through Cruise Traveller before September 30.
Flying between Chile and King George Island takes just two hours, compared with the traditional two-day Drake Passage crossing each way.
“For those with more limited time, our Fly the Drake expeditions provide the luxury of maximising your experience, allowing you to reach your Antarctic adventure faster while still enjoying the comfort of our purpose-built yachts,” said James Rodriguez, Atlas Ocean Voyages President and CEO.
The ‘Drake Express Expedition’ offers four departures between November 2027 and February 2028, featuring return charter flights from Chile to King George Island and a seven-night round-trip voyage to Antarctica, bypassing the Drake in both directions.
The ‘Drake Fly and Sail Expedition’, with two departures in November 2027 and February 2028, combines the classic sea crossing to Antarctica with a charter flight home from King George Island.
Cruise Traveller is offering an 11-night ‘Drake Fly and Sail’ package departing November 18, 2027, from $US17,999 per person twin share in a Veranda Suite.
The package includes a night in Buenos Aires, a day trip to Tierra del Fuego National Park, a nine-night expedition aboard World Navigator, a charter flight over the Drake Passage to Punta Arenas and a final night in Chile.
Onboard beverages, gratuities and Zodiac excursions are all included.
