Trafalgar has launched its inaugural ‘Villages of France’ departure, marking a strategic shift toward slower, more immersive travel through the French countryside.
The nine-day itinerary bypasses traditional highways in favour of lesser-known villages.
“It is a testament to the fact that when travel is created with care and a deep respect for local communities, it creates memories that last far beyond the journey itself,” said Louise Levesque, TTC Tour Brands Partner Marketing Director Oceania.
A centrepiece of the journey is a Be My Guest Experience at the Château de Vieux Chambord, hosted by the Devaulx de Chambord family, featuring a traditional meal of locally sourced beef and historic spaces dressed with spring floral arrangements.
As the route progresses through the villages of Beaune, Colmar and Ribeauvillé, guests gain historical insight from local specialists, including an in-depth exploration of Strasbourg Cathedral.
The itinerary also features a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER Experience at Café Joyeux in Strasbourg, a social enterprise dedicated to inclusive employment in hospitality.
The journey continues through the Champagne region and the town of Meaux, renowned for its Brie cheese, before concluding in Paris. The ‘Villages of France’ itinerary is priced from $4,925 per person.
