Eight travel agents have enjoyed a famil with Brand USA highlighting the accessibility and diversity of U.S. destinations beyond traditional gateway cities.
The ‘Trail the American West’ educational showcased seamless regional connectivity and immersive itinerary opportunities across California, Nevada and Oregon.
The program was hosted by Lexie Miliatis, Brand USA Trade Manager for Australia & New Zealand, and included participants from across the Helloworld network.
Designed to support product diversification and experience-led selling, the program reinforced Brand USA’s ongoing commitment to equipping the travel trade with the knowledge, confidence and tools to promote a broader range of U.S. destinations.
The itinerary combined air and self-drive travel to demonstrate the ease of multi-region journeys across the USA.
Beginning in San Francisco, agents explored attractions including the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island and Pier 39, before travelling by road to Lake Tahoe.
Here, agents experienced a curated mix of sellable product, including a Tahoe Paradise wine tasting cruise, an Emerald Bay Sightseeing Tour by Lake Tahoe Tours & Rentals and a scenic gondola ride to Heavenly Mountain Resort.
The program also included dining at Hell’s Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay and a stay at Margaritaville Resort, showcasing the destination’s strong appeal across premium, leisure and lifestyle segments, and its suitability for a wide range of client types.
The journey continued via regional air connection into Oregon, followed by a road trip through Southern and Central Oregon, with visits to Crater Lake National Park and Smith Rock State Park, before concluding in Portland.
Along the way, agents experienced a diverse range of product, including national parks, culinary experiences, local touring and live sport, reinforcing the breadth of experiences available beyond traditional gateway cities.
“What an incredible experience going off the beaten path and exploring regions in depth within the heart of communities,” said Narelle Olsen, Helloworld Travel Naracoorte.
“Travelling by road allowed us to really take in the views and understand how accessible these areas are.”
