Crystal has confirmed its contract with Fincantieri for a third next generation ocean ship is now effective, securing another addition to its fleet for delivery in May 2034.

The vessel was covered by an option exercised in 2024 and will follow Crystal Grace, which is scheduled to debut in 2028, and a sister ship expected to enter service in May 2031.

The three newbuilds form part of Crystal’s long term fleet expansion under A&K Travel Group and represent a significant increase in future capacity for the luxury cruise brand.

The unnamed 2034 ship will accommodate 650 guests based on double occupancy and measure approximately 62,000 gross tonnes. It will feature all veranda accommodation, including an Owner’s Suite and new categories designed for solo travellers.

Plans also include a full wraparound promenade inspired by those aboard Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, along with outdoor dining terraces and additional open air spaces for relaxation and socialising.

Crystal said the ship would maintain one of the luxury sector’s highest crew to guest ratios, supporting the personalised service offered across its existing fleet.

Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, A&K Travel Group Executive Chairman, said the contract reflected the company’s confidence in the brand’s future.

“This third ship reflects our long-term commitment to the brand and to our guests, who continue to inspire us to raise the standard for luxury cruising around the world,” Mr Lefebvre d’Ovidio said.

Cristina Levis, A&K Travel Group CEO, said demand for Crystal Grace had exceeded expectations, supporting further investment in new ships.

“With each new ship, we are building on Crystal’s legacy while thoughtfully evolving the experience for a new generation of luxury travellers,” Ms Levis said.

Construction of Crystal Grace is underway at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Italy. Bookings have opened for its inaugural 2028 season following the ship’s steel cutting ceremony.

The three ship program gives travel advisors a clearer view of Crystal’s long term capacity plans, with new accommodation categories and updated public spaces expected to broaden its appeal among luxury and solo clients.
