The Hotel Connection Showcase began in Melbourne on February 2 before moving to Sydney on February 5, with upcoming events scheduled for the Gold Coast and Brisbane on February 9. For the first time, the annual roadshow will also visit New Zealand, with an Auckland event on February 11 expected to attract more than 60 travel agents.
Around 100 agents attended the Sydney showcase at the Museum of Contemporary Art, where they heard updates on luxury hotels represented by The Hotel Connection alongside Unforgettable Croatia’s small ship cruising program. The event is hosted by The Hotel Connection’s Sarah Whitty, who also represents Unforgettable Croatia locally as business development manager.
Unforgettable Croatia’s Australian based European Travel Specialist Aurore Bertomeu is presenting at each event and said the roadshow was an important platform to grow awareness of the brand in the region.
While Unforgettable Croatia has been operating seven night small ship sailings in Croatia since 2015, the company opened its first Australian office in 2024 in response to rising demand. Australians now account for around 20 per cent of guests, with strong interest in the company’s newest vessel, Aretis. The sleek 36 guest yacht already represents a quarter of all bookings for the year to date.
The showcase is designed to highlight Unforgettable Croatia’s luxury product to travel agents across Australia and New Zealand, while strengthening relationships with existing partners and building new connections.
Unforgettable Croatia operates itineraries between Split and Dubrovnik along the Dalmatian Coast, with an increasing number of departures from Sibenik. Ports of call include well known favourites such as Trogir and Hvar alongside lesser visited destinations including Korcula, Vis and the national parks of Mljet and Krka.
All cruises include seven nights aboard a luxury yacht, daily breakfast and three course lunch, two onboard dinners, complimentary tea, coffee and water, daily swim stops and use of onboard water sports, wifi, guided excursions, onboard lectures and experiences, a professional cruise director and private luxury transfers. Most evenings are spent ashore, allowing guests to explore coastal towns independently and enjoy local cuisine.
The Sydney event also featured presentations from a range of European hotel and destination partners including Fontelunga Tuscan Collection, Truly Spain and Portugal, IDI Travel France Italy and Morocco and The Grand Hotel Central Barcelona.
