Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has unveiled the first renderings of its newest Super Ships, S.S. Audrey and S.S. Marlene, set to debut in 2027.

Inspired by European screen legends Audrey Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich, the sister ships will bring two distinct design visions to Europe’s rivers while continuing Uniworld’s tradition of distinctive, design focused vessels that reflect the destinations they sail through.

Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO, Uniworld, said the ships celebrate two women whose influence defined an era.

“One of a kind design has always been central to the Uniworld experience,” Bettridge said. “With S.S. Audrey and S.S. Marlene, we are celebrating two women whose style defined an era while creating spaces that deepen our guests’ connection to the destinations they explore.”

A Design Inspired By Audrey Hepburn

The design of S.S. Audrey draws inspiration from Audrey Hepburn’s timeless elegance and the spirit of mid twentieth century Europe, the period that shaped her career.

Interiors feature a palette of greens, golds and blues alongside geometric patterns and artistic references to the iconic actress. The ship will also include an aft bar lounge, a private dining room for small group dining and the option to combine adjacent suites to create spacious two bedroom accommodation for families or groups travelling together.

S.S. Audrey will begin sailing on 16 April 2027 with its inaugural departure on the Remarkable Rhine & Historic Holland itinerary. During the season the ship will also operate journeys including Paris, Prague & Germany’s Hidden Gems and Scenic Rhine, Paris & the Swiss Alps.

Bold Aesthetic For S.S. Marlene

Meanwhile S.S. Marlene pays tribute to the striking presence and timeless beauty of German born actress and singer Marlene Dietrich.

The ship’s interiors will feature warm tan and gold tones with dramatic accents of pink, red and blue. Accommodating up to 154 guests, the vessel will include signature Uniworld amenities such as a restaurant, lounge, private dining room, spa and fitness centre.

S.S. Marlene will begin sailing on 27 March 2027 with its inaugural departure on the Tulips & Windmills itinerary, before operating a range of Central European sailings including Enchanting Danube and Delightful Danube.

The two ships form part of Uniworld’s wider fleet expansion planned for 2027, which will also see the launch of S.S. São Rafael on Portugal’s Douro River and the expedition yacht Aqua Blu, operated in partnership with Aqua Expeditions in Indonesia and Singapore. With these additions, Uniworld’s entire fleet will consist of Super Ships by 2027.
