Viking has partnered with Brisbane’s Queensland Art Gallery to host an exclusive after-hours experience at the Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA).

The event offered invited guests rare private access to Olafur Eliasson: Presence, a major Brisbane-exclusive exhibition by internationally acclaimed contemporary artist Olafur Eliasson.

The intimate evening delivered a ‘money-can’t-buy’ cultural moment, available only through the Viking–QAGOMA partnership.

Seamlessly blending art, culture and gastronomy, the event underscored Viking’s commitment to creating enriching experiences that extend beyond the voyage itself – fostering curiosity, creativity and meaningful connection.

Guests, including Viking travellers and key trade partners, were welcomed into the gallery after hours for a private curator-led tour of Presence, guided by QAGOMA Lead Curator Geraldine Kirrihi Barlow.

The immersive exhibition showcases Eliasson’s multi-sensory installations, which explore perception, light, nature and shared human experience – themes that resonate strongly with culturally curious travellers.

Following the tour, attendees were treated to a bespoke three-course dinner within GOMA, designed and presented by the gallery’s Executive Chef.

Paired with premium beverages, the menu was thoughtfully crafted to complement the artistic journey of the evening, transforming the event into a seamless celebration of creativity, conversation and cuisine.

The evening also marked a key milestone in Viking’s partnership with QAGOMA, which began last year in support of Olafur Eliasson: Presence.

The collaboration unites one of Australia’s most dynamic cultural institutions with a global leader in experiential travel, reflecting shared values of lifelong learning, cultural discovery and thoughtful exploration.
