A: My overall impression of the Globus Turkish Escape famil was extremely positive. The experience was amazing from start to finish, offering an authentic and truly enjoyable glimpse into the culture and destination that is Turkey.
Everything was thoughtfully organised and the leadership throughout the trip was outstanding, professional, knowledgeable and attentive – making the journey feel seamless and stress-free.
It was a memorable experience that exceeded my expectations and left a lasting impression.
Q: What were your highlights of the famil?
A: My highlights included visiting the moving historical site of Gallipoli, the beauty of Hagia Sophia, the unique white terraces of Pamukkale, the lively coastal charm of Kusadası and the vibrant atmosphere of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.
It was the perfect blend of history, culture and natural beauty.
The Bosphorus cruise was absolutely amazing. Cruising between the European and Asian sides of Istanbul, we enjoyed great views of historic palaces, mosques and charming waterfronts.
The experience was both relaxing and unforgettable, offering a unique perspective on the city’s beauty and vibrant culture.

- The Food
What can I say about the food…everything was a flavour explosion!
We had kebabs including the famous Iskender kebab from the town of Bursa, Red lentil soup with squeezes of fresh lemon, meze (small, shared dishes like hummus, stuffed vine leaves and eggplant salads), pide and lahmacun (Turkish flatbreads), and baklava for dessert. We also sampled lots of Turkish delight, Turkish tea and coffee.
- The accommodation
Accommodation on the Globus Turkish Escape was excellent, offering comfortable rooms, beautiful views and great locations.
Many hotels are well positioned near key attractions or along the coast, providing great scenery and easy access to sights, dining and shopping.
- The touring
Our tour guide Taner had a wealth of knowledge and was always so friendly and organised. Everything ran smoothly, with a well-planned itinerary and seamless transport.
Leaving early to visit the sites meant we could enjoy the attractions without the crowds, making the experience even more enjoyable and stress-free.
- The shopping
We could have spent a whole week just in the Grand Bazaar! It offers spices, sweets, Turkish delight, souvenirs, bags, clothes…you name it.
We also saw so many handcrafted carpets, ceramics and pottery, leather goods, jewellery and textiles like scarves and towels.
The Turkish carpet-making demonstration was truly amazing. Watching the intricate craftsmanship and skill involved in creating each piece was fascinating and learning about the history and techniques behind the carpets made the experience both educational and memorable.
Q: Did you learn or discover any key takeaways about the region or travelling in the region that will help you with clients interested in Istanbul?
A: Absolutely. One key takeaway is that Turkey offers an incredible mix of history, culture and natural beauty, making it appealing to a wide range of travellers.
An experienced Globus tour guide is essential to fully enjoy major sites like Hagia Sophia or the Grand Bazaar. Well-organised tours, like the Globus Turkish Escape, make exploring easier and more enjoyable, ensuring clients see a lot without feeling rushed.
These recommendations ensure clients have a seamless, memorable experience. I would also advise to extend with pre and post accommodation in Istanbul as there is just so much to see!

A: The atmosphere was fantastic. Everyone got along really well, sharing laughs and stories throughout the trip, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We all had so much fun exploring Turkey together. Definitely lots of core memories made.
Q: What was unexpected or surprising about the famil?
A: Traveling around Turkey was both friendly and safe. Locals are warm, welcoming and eager to share their culture, which makes exploring cities, markets and towns a real pleasure.
Q: Summing up – anything else to add?
A: We were really lucky to fly with Turkish Airlines. The flights were comfortable, the service was friendly and professional, and the in-flight meals were excellent.
