Travel and tourism professionals are being invited to have their say on proposed updates to three nationally recognised qualifications covering tourism, travel and guiding.
Service and Creative Skills Australia is holding a series of consultation workshops in September as part of its review of the Certificate III in Tourism, Certificate III in Travel and Certificate III in Guiding.
The sessions are designed to gather feedback from industry professionals and training providers on whether the qualifications remain practical and aligned with current workforce needs.
A training provider workshop covering all three qualifications will be held on September 1 from 10am to 11.30am AEST.
Separate industry workshops will follow, with the
Certificate III in Tourism session on September 1 from 12.30pm to 2pm,
Certificate III in Travel on September 2 from 1pm to 2.30pm
and Certificate III in Guiding on September 3 from 1pm to 2.30pm.
Feedback gathered during the consultation will contribute to proposed changes to the qualifications, giving employers, trainers and other industry stakeholders an opportunity to influence how future travel and tourism workers are trained.
For travel businesses, the review also provides a chance to highlight emerging skills requirements and areas where current training may need to better reflect day to day industry practice.
