Air Canada has announced plans to purchase eight Airbus A350 1000 aircraft as part of its ongoing fleet renewal and international growth strategy.
The airline has also secured rights to buy eight more of the widebody jets, with the first deliveries expected from the second half of 2030.
Air Canada says the new aircraft will strengthen its long haul network and provide greater flexibility across its global operations. The A350 1000 is designed to fly longer distances more efficiently, helping the carrier explore new routes while improving performance on existing services.
The aircraft will also introduce Air Canada’s new cabin standard, featuring upgraded inflight entertainment and improved connectivity. Airbus says the jet offers a quieter cabin and enhanced onboard comfort, aimed at reducing fatigue on long haul flights.
The order forms part of a broader fleet modernisation programme, with new Boeing 787 10 Dreamliners, Airbus A321XLRs and Airbus A220s also set to join the fleet.
Air Canada says the investment will support its long term growth while maintaining a focus on efficiency and customer experience.
