A boutique property in Tasmania has unveiled a new collection of immersive experiences, inviting guests to explore one of Australia’s most remote and compelling regions with comfort, depth and authenticity.

Set on the sheltered waters of Macquarie Harbour on the edge of UNESCO-listed wilderness, the 12-suite Risby Cove Boutique Hotel in Strahan has launched a series of signature journeys ranging from private harbour dining to remote scenic flights and underground mining heritage experiences.

Jacinta Young, Risby Cove owner and CEO of Allure Tasmania, said the new program reflected a broader shift in how people wanted to travel.

“It’s no longer about ticking boxes, it’s about connection. Connection to nature, to story and to a sense of stillness that’s increasingly rare. These new experiences allow guests to feel Tasmania, not just see it,” Ms Young said.

The Experiences Collection includes:

# Private dining at The Jetty Table and The Piner’s Table, set against the harbour and historic sawmill site

# The Summit to Shaft experience, journeying from alpine peaks to underground mining heritage

# Fresh Catch Crayfish Experience

# The Strahan Story Cycle on e-bikes

# Slow wellness moments including harbour kayaking, yoga, meditation and cedar hot tubs beneath the stars.

Originally the site of the Risby Bros sawmill established in 1889, the property has been reimagined as a luxury waterfront retreat with locally sourced Huon pine timbers, Tasmanian art and harbour or rainforest-facing suites throughout.

The award-winning restaurant celebrates Tasmania’s freshest seasonal produce in dishes inspired by land, sea and story.

Risby Cove is located in Strahan, approximately four-and-a-half hours from Hobart. Stays start from $695 per night in high season with breakfast included, with savings of up to 30 per cent available in low season from June to August.
