Destination Central Coast has launched a major new tourism campaign aimed at driving visitation and supporting local operators as demand for short-break travel continues to surge.

The new “BE. RIGHT. THERE.” campaign positions the NSW Central Coast as a leading easy-access getaway destination for Sydney travellers seeking affordable, low-effort escapes closer to home.

Running through to 20 July 2026, the campaign responds to changing travel habits as Australians increasingly prioritise shorter regional holidays over expensive long-haul trips amid ongoing cost-of-living pressures.

Located just 45 minutes from Sydney by car or train, the Central Coast is targeting the lucrative NSW drive market, highlighting accessibility as one of the region’s strongest competitive advantages.

The campaign showcases the diversity of experiences available across the region, from beaches and wellness retreats to boutique accommodation, dining experiences, family-friendly attractions and pet-friendly escapes.

Destination Central Coast said the campaign was designed not only to attract visitors but also deliver long-term commercial benefits for local tourism businesses during a challenging economic environment.

A large-scale media rollout will see the campaign promoted across out-of-home advertising, streaming platforms including 7+, 9Now and SBS On Demand, as well as YouTube, Spotify, Google and social media.

Alongside the consumer campaign, local tourism operators will also gain access to a 12-month co-operative marketing program running through to March 2027, allowing businesses to participate in tailored promotional packages designed to convert increased awareness into direct bookings.

All campaign activity directs travellers to a dedicated landing page featuring offers and experiences from participating tourism operators.

The initiative also taps into the growing popularity of “micro-holidays” and regional drive tourism, with Destination Central Coast highlighting the increasing appeal of electric vehicle-friendly road trips and sustainable travel experiences.

The Central Coast has increasingly positioned itself as one of Australia’s leading sustainable tourism destinations after receiving Ecotourism Australia ECO Destination Certification in 2022.

Fringed by more than 40 beaches and located between Sydney and Newcastle, the region continues to benefit from growing demand for close-to-home travel experiences among Australian holidaymakers.
