LATAM is accelerating its fleet renewal plan with more than 40 next-generation aircraft to be incorporated by the end of 2026.
This will take its operating fleet to 410 aircraft, placing it among the world’s 12 largest airlines.
Sebastián Acuto, LATAM Airlines Group Vice President of Fleet and Projects, said fleet renewal was one of the group’s most important investments.
“South America has domestic markets with tremendous growth potential and having a more flexible and diversified fleet gives us the capabilities we need to capture those opportunities,” said Mr Acuto.
During the first half of 2026 LATAM took delivery of 13 next-generation aircraft including seven Airbus A320neo, four Airbus A321neo and two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with a further 28 aircraft expected before year-end.
For the first time, deliveries will also include the Embraer E190-E2, which will strengthen LATAM’s domestic network in Brazil by providing greater flexibility to serve a broader range of markets.
The fleet renewal plan continues in 2027 with the delivery of LATAM’s first Airbus A321XLR, enabling the group to expand its medium-haul non-stop network across South America.
By 2030, more than 50 per cent of the group’s fleet will consist of next-generation aircraft.
According to manufacturers’ data, these aircraft reduce CO₂ emissions by between 20 and 25 per cent compared with previous-generation models, supporting LATAM’s commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
