Two new Mediterranean voyages have been added for May 2027 following the anticipated early delivery of Norwegian Aura, giving travellers the first opportunity to sail aboard the line’s newest and largest ship.
The inaugural program will begin on May 2 with a 10-day sailing from Trieste to Athens, visiting Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia, Bar in Montenegro and Corfu, Santorini and Mykonos in Greece.
A second nine-day voyage will depart Athens on May 12 for Trieste, calling at Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini and Corfu, along with Bar, Split and Zadar.
Marc Kazlauskas, Norwegian Cruise Line President, said the earlier delivery allowed the company to bring the ship into service sooner than planned.
“We’re thrilled to open these inaugural Mediterranean sailings and look forward to welcoming our first guests aboard and introducing them to the ship’s new entertainment, dining, wellness and innovative family-friendly experiences,” Mr Kazlauskas said.
At nearly 350 metres long, Norwegian Aura will be 10% larger than Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna.
New features include Ocean Heights, a multi-deck outdoor activity complex with waterslides, a ropes course and family areas, as well as the line’s largest pool deck and Vibe Beach Club to date.
The ship will also debut new entertainment including Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston, while dining additions include Tamara, the line’s first speciality Indian restaurant, and The Panorama Room.
Wellness facilities will include the line’s most extensive thermal suite and the first sensory rain pool at sea.
Following the two inaugural sailings, Norwegian Aura will operate a seven-day Trieste to Barcelona voyage and a 13-day transatlantic crossing to Miami before beginning Caribbean cruises in June 2027.
