A new 48-room apartment hotel has opened in Hobart with a design concept inspired by Tasmania’s wilderness, using local photography and road-trip ideas to encourage guests to explore further across the state.

Adina Hobart opened on October 21 with interiors influenced by the Central Highlands, Mt Field National Park and Lake St Clair.

Natural timbers, neutral tones and accents of green and orange reference Tasmania’s eucalypt forests, while large-scale photography by Elliott and Annalisa Doedens features landscapes across Mt Field, Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair and the Southwest Wilderness.

The hotel will also provide curated self-guided road-trip inspiration, linking the landscapes featured throughout the property with places guests can visit beyond Hobart.

“Our goal was to create a hotel that feels intrinsically connected to Tasmania,” Richard Doedens, hotel owner, said. “The palette, textures and organic forms all draw from the quiet beauty of the eucalypt forests that define so much of the state’s landscape.”

Accommodation includes studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, with selected rooms able to connect into three-bedroom configurations. Apartments feature kitchens and separate spaces for living, working and relaxing.

Located within the same mixed-use development as Vibe Hobart, guests will also have access to Belvedere restaurant and bar, conferencing facilities, a pool and gym.

Jamie Capp, Adina Hobart General Manager, said the apartment format was designed to support longer stays and give visitors greater flexibility to explore the city and wider Tasmania.

“Apartment-style stays are increasingly important to the visitor economy because they encourage extended travel and support local operators. With both Adina and Vibe now in Hobart, we’re offering travellers more choice, whether they’re here for business, culture, or nature,” he added.
