Club Med has appointed Marc Letourneau as General Manager of the Pacific, overseeing Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Letourneau brings 28 years with the company and returns to the region after six years leading its Japan and South Korea markets.
His previous roles include Sales Manager for Australia and New Zealand, Regional Sales Coordination Manager in Singapore and General Manager of Taiwan.
“Returning home to Australia feels like coming full circle and I’m pleased to be working again within a market I know so well,” Mr Letourneau said.
His priorities will include strengthening relationships with industry partners, growing awareness across Australia and New Zealand and supporting demand for Club Med’s resort portfolio, including its mountain destinations and upcoming properties in Borneo, Manado and Koh Samui.
Mr Letourneau succeeds Michelle Davies, who has relocated to Kuala Lumpur to lead Club Med across Singapore, Malaysia and emerging Southeast Asian markets.
Ms Davies spent more than six years leading the Pacific business and during her tenure she helped guide the business through the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, contributing to the Pacific becoming one of Club Med’s top five markets globally.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together, from delivering record-breaking performance, particularly across our ski portfolio, to successfully showcasing our evolving resort portfolio to the market and being recognised by the industry as Most Popular Accommodation Group for three consecutive years,” said Ms Davies.
“These achievements are a testament to the dedication of our Pacific team and the strong relationships we’ve built with our travel industry partners. I’m extremely grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey.”
“Having spent the past six years leading our Japan and South Korea markets, I’m looking forward to bringing those insights and experiences back to the Pacific, particularly as Japan continues to boom in popularity among Australian and Kiwi travellers,’ added Mr Letourneau.
“As an avid skier, I’m passionate about our mountain destinations and the distinctive experiences Club Med offers in this space.
“With new resorts in Borneo, Manado and Koh Samui on the horizon, alongside significant investment in our existing resorts, we have an exciting opportunity to build on Club Med’s position as a leader in premium all-inclusive holidays.
“My focus will be on continuing to build awareness and trust across Australia and New Zealand, showcasing the breadth of our destinations and the quality of the experience we deliver, and inspiring more travellers to discover Club Med.
“I’d also like to congratulate Michelle on her new role and wish her every success in this next chapter in Southeast Asia. She leaves a strong foundation in the Pacific and I look forward to building on that momentum with the team and our industry partners.”
