Luxury Escapes has dropped a sale on its Maldives hotel and flight packages, launching a “return flight for free” two-week campaign.
Australians will also be able to save from $699 per adult per package across a range of five-star Maldives resorts.
It follows the recent launch of Australia’s first ever regular direct commercial flight between Australia and the Maldives.
The luxury travel company has partnered with Maldivian Airlines to operate a weekly non-stop service from Melbourne to Malé, the capital of the Maldives.
The current seasonal service is scheduled to operate until October, with talks already underway to extend the flight to year-round following strong demand, as well as consideration for other Australian departure ports including Sydney.
Among the most popular Maldives resorts as booked by Australian travellers so far:
- SO/ Maldives
- Finolhu, a Seaside Collection Resort
- Pullman Maldives
- Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives
- Outrigger Maldives
The direct flight departs Melbourne at 11.20pm every Monday evening for the overnight flight, landing in Malé at sunrise, with direct seaplane or speedboat transfers straight to the outer island resorts for early check-in.
The return flight departs 8.40pm Sunday evening, for the 10-hour, 50-minute flight back to Melbourne, arriving at 12.30pm Monday.
The return flight for free campaign is on sale now until June 30, with availability for bundled packages and flights across a range of travel dates between July 20 and September 14.
Two members of Luxury Escapes’ rewards program Société were the first recipients of a secret Société Gold benefit – a surprise and delight upgrade from economy to business class on this week’s flight from Malé to Melbourne.
The honeymooning couple were given the news at check-in and as part of their upgrade perks, enjoyed lounge access, business class dining and a lay-flat bed to ease their return to reality.
