A new six-night small-group safari through the far west of New South Wales has been released by Tri State Tours by Overland Adventures, taking travellers through the ancient wilderness areas of Mungo, Mutawintji and Menindee.

The fully hosted journey, led by expert local guides in custom-designed air-conditioned four-wheel drives, blends indigenous culture, dramatic landscapes and authentic outback hospitality across some of Australia’s most remote destinations.

The itinerary begins in Broken Hill before heading into Mutawintji National Park for age-old indigenous rock art and dramatic gorges. A night by a billabong at the Warrawong on the Darling outback retreat near Wilcannia follows.

From there, the tour takes in the wildlife-rich landscapes of Menindee Lakes and Kinchega National Park before an overnight stay at Bindara Station, renowned for its sweeping horizons and river sunsets.

The journey then continues through the Willandra Lakes World Heritage area to Mungo National Park, where a two-night stay at Mungo Lodge reveals ancient lakebeds and the famous Walls of China, 33-kilometre wind-shaped lunettes dating back more than 36,000 years. The tour concludes via the Pery Sandhills near Wentworth and the meeting of the Murray and Darling rivers before returning to Broken Hill.

Including 14 meals, the tour is priced at $4,485 per person twin share and $5,670 for solo travellers, with departures on July 7 and October 12, 2026.

Book by June 7 to receive two free nights accommodation in Broken Hill before or after the tour. Bookings for the July 7 departure also include a free bottle of local wine.
