Holland America Line’s flagship Rotterdam will sail a series of Mediterranean cruises for the first time, with five itineraries now open for booking across the Western and Eastern Mediterranean for 2027.

Paul Grigsby, Holland America Line Vice President of Revenue Planning, said the moment was one the line was excited to share with guests.

“There’s something really special about seeing the flagship sailing in iconic ports like Bilbao, Naples and Rhodes for the first time,” Mr Grigsby said.

The 10- and 11-day voyages call at destinations including Lisbon, Naples, Kotor, Rhodes and Alexandria, with select itineraries featuring scenic cruising through the Strait of Messina and past Stromboli, one of the world’s most active volcanoes.

Sailings can be combined into longer itineraries, with the season concluding with a 14-day transatlantic crossing from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale.

Highlights include a 10-day ‘Around the Iberian Peninsula’ sailing from Rotterdam to Barcelona departing October 17, 2027, calling at Portsmouth, Bordeaux, Bilbao, Cartagena, Valencia and Lisbon.

An 11-day ‘Mediterranean Splendor’ sailing from Barcelona to Athens departs October 27, visiting Palma de Mallorca, Marseille, Florence, Rome, Naples, Corfu and Kotor.

A 10-day ‘Greek Isles’ sailing roundtrip from Athens departs November 7, with an overnight in Istanbul and calls at Mykonos, Rhodes and Kusadasi.

An 11-day ‘Greek Isles sailing including Egypt and the Holy Land’ departs November 17, visiting Alexandria, Cyprus, Antalya, Rhodes and an overnight in Haifa.

The addition of Rotterdam builds on more than 20 sailings available across the Holland America Line fleet for 2027 through to 2028.
