Sydney’s annual festival of light, music and ideas returns from May 22 to June 13, and new imagery of the 2026 program has just been released, offering a first look at some of the most anticipated installations along the Circular Quay and The Rocks precinct.
Highlights in this zone include The Fringe of Infinity, a geometric light intervention by Spanish artist Javier Riera using projection, pattern and optical illusion to transform architecture and shift perceptions of space. The Prism, originally created for Burning Man, is a pulsating LED light dome offering a meditative, tranquil space along the light walk. Pendulum sways above crowds at Hickson Road Reserve, combining spectacle and science in equal measure.
Other works in the precinct include Circles of Rhythm, As Water Falls, Dear You, Invisible Cities, Koro Loko, Optik and Reflect.
This year marks the first time Vivid Sydney will offer daytime programming alongside its famous nightly light walk, which runs from 6pm each evening across Circular Quay, The Rocks, Barangaroo and Darling Harbour.
Lights on Friday May 22.
