Qantas and Surf Life Saving Australia have partnered with champion Aussie swimmer Cody Simpson to promote beach safety this summer.

The initiative is designed to encourage Aussies to complete their Beach Passport ahead of the peak season.

Launched in November 2024 by SLSA, in partnership with Qantas, the Beach Passport is a complimentary online training resource that provides essential water safety education.

In its first season, more than 37,000 beachgoers completed the program, equipping themselves with critical knowledge to assess beach conditions and navigate Australian waters safely.

Simpson has been a dedicated Surf Life Saving volunteer and member of his local surf club, Northcliffe Surf Club, since childhood.

The Commonwealth Games finalist brings both elite swimming credentials and authentic connection to Australia’s surf lifesaving community.

“Growing up on the Gold Coast, the beach has always been my second home and surf lifesavers are the unsung heroes who keep us all safe,” said Cody.

“The Beach Passport is such a simple but effective tool that can make a real difference. So whether completing it for the first time, or renewing for your second year, it only takes 15 minutes and will give you the knowledge that could save your life or someone else’s this summer season.”
