Destination Canada has invited the Australian travel trade to play a hands on role in reshaping the future of tourism, issuing an open call for agents, operators, airlines and industry partners to join its regenerative travel pledge.
The initiative, led by Destination Canada’s Australian office, aims to unite organisations across the local travel sector that share a belief in tourism as a force for good, supporting communities, restoring nature and ensuring travel delivers meaningful benefits to people and place.
Destination Canada says there are practical ways the industry can influence positive change, from the experiences travellers book to the timing and locations they choose.
Travel sellers and planners are encouraged to:
- Enrich customer journeys by building itineraries around meaningful experiences that connect visitors with local stories, cultures and environments
- Influence when people travel by encouraging shoulder and off peak travel to help spread visitation more evenly across the year
- Shape where travellers go by supporting regional dispersal and promoting destinations that benefit local communities and economies
The pledge is designed for travel businesses that believe tourism should deliver more than memorable holidays.
Destination Canada is calling on partners who support experiences that honour Indigenous cultures and strengthen communities, and who see protecting the future for both people and planet as essential.
Australian travel trade partners who want to support Canada’s regenerative vision can sign the pledge using the qr code below or via Destination Canada’s link: https://lnkd.in/gRkK4y6u

Destination Canada said industry participation is key to creating a tourism future that gives back more than it takes, with the Australian trade encouraged to join the movement and help turn intent into impact.
