Travelex has launched two new sites at Hobart Airport as the gateway prepares to welcome 3.5 million passengers by 2030.
The two new ATMs are located in the airside departures and landside arrivals respectively, strategically positioned to meet the growing demand of passenger traffic as the airport undertakes an ambitious $200 million terminal expansion, doubling the airport’s terminal footprint by 2027.
Hobart Airport’s recent runway upgrade to accommodate widebody aircraft will enable nonstop international flights to Asian destinations including Singapore and Hong Kong in the next few years.

“Our expanded estate will enable us to conveniently serve the growing number of passengers requiring access to travel money, including future Asian destinations.”
Travelex’s airside departures ATM dispenses Australian dollar, US dollar, New Zealand dollar and Indonesian rupiah, while the Australian dollar is available at the new landside arrivals ATM.
Travelex opened its first Tasmanian store more than 20 years ago in the Launceston CBD, with a bureau implant inside leading travel agency Helloworld Travel.
In 2024, Travelex unveiled a new store at Eastlands Shopping Centre, the largest shopping centre in Hobart. The company also supports more than 100 Australia Post outlets across Tasmania with foreign exchange cash services.
According to the 2026 Travelex Travel Money Insight report, nearly half of the Australians surveyed prefer to acquire travel money a month or more before their journey.
