Just weeks after Eurail adopted the Interrail name globally, the European rail brand has launched a major sale offering 50 per cent off selected long-duration Global Passes.

Running until Wednesday 30 September 2026, the promotion is designed to encourage Australians to spend weeks, or even months, exploring Europe by rail.

Australians are among the world’s longest holidaymakers, making them well suited to the extended journeys at the centre of Interrail’s new global brand platform, ‘The Interrail Effect’.

The campaign positions rail as more than transport between destinations, focusing instead on the experiences that emerge when travellers have the freedom to linger in regional towns, act on local recommendations or change their plans along the way.

“We hope this promotion inspires travellers to think differently about how they explore Europe,” Interrail Chief Brand and Commercial Officer Ozlem Birkalan said.

“Spending longer on the continent often creates space for the unexpected – discovering a village that wasn’t on the itinerary, accepting a recommendation from someone you’ve just met or deciding to stay an extra day because you’ve fallen in love with a place.

“Those moments are difficult to plan, but they’re often the ones people remember for the rest of their lives.”

Alongside the 50 per cent saving on selected longer-duration Global Passes, Interrail is offering 15 per cent off all other passes, including shorter-duration Global Passes and One Country Passes.

Both First and Second Class passes are included in the sale. Further discounts are available for seniors aged 60 and over and travellers aged between 12 and 27, while up to two children aged four to 11 can travel free with an accompanying adult.

Passes purchased during the promotion do not need to be used immediately, with travellers given 11 months from the date of issue to activate them.

Travel agents can purchase Interrail Passes in Australia through Rail Europe and its network of agents, Klook and other official Interrail distributors.
