One of the world’s most recognised travel brands is entering a new chapter, with Eurail adopting the Interrail name globally.
The move is part of a brand unification designed to better reflect the company’s vision for the future of transformative European rail travel.
The rebrand also marks the introduction of ‘The Interrail Effect‘ – the company’s new global brand platform.
This celebrates the unique way rail travel encourages people to experience Europe more consciously, connect more deeply with places and people, and discover that some of the continent’s most memorable moments happen not only at their destinations but throughout the journey itself.
“This is much more than a new name. Interrail represents a renewed vision for European travel that reflects how people increasingly want to explore today – more thoughtfully, more flexibly, and with greater curiosity,” said Ozlem Birkalan, Chief Brand and Commercial Officer at Interrail.
“For decades we’ve seen travellers return home with stories shaped not only by the places they visited, but by the conversations they had onboard, the unexpected towns they discovered and the spontaneous decisions they made along the way.
“The Interrail Effect simply gives a name to something we’ve witnessed for many years – that travel doesn’t just take you somewhere new; it changes how you see the world and yourself.”
The rebrand comes as Australians continue to rank among Interrail’s most important international travellers.
Known for spending longer in Europe than many other visitor markets, Australians are increasingly embracing slower, more immersive journeys that extend beyond Europe’s iconic cities into regional destinations and lesser-visited communities.
With the flexibility to board trains across multiple countries using a single Pass, travellers can shape itineraries around instinct rather than fixed schedules, allowing more time for scenic rail journeys, spontaneous stopovers and authentic local experiences.
Birkalan said these latest developments demonstrate that the Interrail network continues to evolve alongside the changing ways people travel.
“As we introduce the Interrail brand globally, we’re also continuing to invest in making Europe easier to explore by rail.
“Every new connection, every new carrier, and every new route creates more opportunities for travellers to slow down, follow their curiosity, and discover parts of Europe they may otherwise never have experienced.”
Travel agents can purchase Interrail Passes in Australia from Rail Europe, International Rail, Klook, and other Interrail distributors.
