Eight Australian travel advisors have returned from an exclusive British Columbia famil hosted by Canada Travel, powered by Entire Travel Group, in partnership with Air Canada and Destination British Columbia.
The seven-night Rainforest to Rockies itinerary was designed to immerse agents in the diverse experiences available throughout British Columbia, helping them build destination knowledge and gain firsthand insight into one of Canada’s most popular regions for travellers.
Flying with Air Canada to Vancouver, the group travelled through some of British Columbia’s most spectacular landscapes, experiencing a mix of vibrant communities, wildlife encounters, outdoor adventures and authentic Canadian hospitality.
Highlights included witnessing the famous Adams River salmon run, exploring the natural beauty of Wells Gray Provincial Park, discovering British Columbia’s food and wine scene, and taking in the province’s spectacular landscapes from above on a scenic helicopter flight.
The famil also combined horseback riding, guided outdoor adventures and wildlife encounters with stays at distinctive properties such as Mike Wiegele Heli-Skiing Resort in Blue River, alongside visits to mountain resort communities, giving agents first-hand insight into the breadth of experiences British Columbia offers travellers.
“Famils play an important role in helping travel advisors build genuine destination knowledge and confidence,” said Greg McCallum, Sales and Marketing Director, Entire Travel Group.
“When advisors experience a destination firsthand, they gain insights that simply can’t be learned from a brochure or website. That knowledge helps them create more meaningful recommendations and better outcomes for their clients.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Destination British Columbia and Air Canada for their support in making this famil possible.
“Strong industry partnerships like these are essential in providing valuable educational opportunities for the travel trade and showcasing the very best of the destination.”
The value of the famil was further highlighted by participating advisor Maria Piliouras.
“Every stop in Canada brought something different, from breathtaking scenery and adrenaline-filled adventures to unforgettable experiences and special moments along the way,” said Maria.
“Experiencing the destination firsthand has given me a much deeper understanding of what British Columbia offers and will help me make more informed recommendations to my clients.”
The Rainforest to Rockies famil forms part of Canada Travel’s ongoing commitment to supporting the trade through destination education, industry partnerships and immersive learning experiences.
