What do AI-generated crocodile rides, business figures and a whole ship dancing have in common? Connected Travel’s second annual conference, of course!
Held in Palm Cove, Tropical North Queensland, ‘Connecting the Collective’ brought together independent travel advisors, the leadership team and industry partners for three days of learning, shared experiences and plenty of laughs.
From advisors just starting their travel careers to those celebrating six years with Connected Travel, the conference was a reminder that everyone brings something different to the table.
And the collective extended well beyond the network, with suppliers, tourism partners and hotels, including GO Insurance, Globus and Adventure Destinations all playing a part.
The learning was a mix of serious business and a little creativity. Following an AI workshop, advisors were already putting their new skills to use, creating hilarious images of the collective riding crocodiles!
There was also time to get serious about the numbers, with a practical workshop exploring sales, commissions, yield and business profitability.
The group celebrated its own achievements too, with recognition awards including Business Breakthrough and Making Waves, acknowledging the growth and contributions of its advisors.
But the connections certainly didn’t stop in the conference room.
From cocktail making at The Reef House and exploring Kuranda to a hosted dinner at Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas, the group made the most of Tropical North Queensland.
And on a sunset cruise, one of the business owners even managed to get the entire ship up and dancing, including guests outside the Connected Travel group.
Connected Travel Founder and Director Marissa Papas said the conference captured exactly what the theme was about.
“Connecting the Collective isn’t just about our advisors. It’s our suppliers, tourism partners, hotels and everyone who contributes to what we do.
“We take our businesses seriously, but we also love having fun together. And when you manage to get an entire boat dancing, I think you’ve taken connecting to a whole new level!”
Now in its second year, the conference continues to celebrate the people, partnerships and shared experiences that make Connected Travel’s collective what it is.
