Brisbane is set to welcome one of the world’s most iconic live performances when the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo brings its 75th anniversary show exclusively to Queensland in February 2026. The internationally acclaimed event, famed for its stirring Scottish bagpipes, massed military bands, and precision performances, will be held at Suncorp Stadium on 12 and 14 February.
This marks the first time the Tattoo will be staged in Brisbane and its first return to Australia since 2019. Titled The Heroes Who Made Us, the milestone stadium spectacular promises a full-scale production featuring more than 1,000 performers from around the globe. Acts will include the Massed Pipes and Drums, fan-favourites Top Secret Drum Corps, and representatives from the Australian Defence Force, creating a powerful tribute to community, resilience, and honour.
Originally staged in 1950 and now attracting over 230,000 live attendees annually in Edinburgh—as well as over 100 million viewers worldwide—the Tattoo has grown into a global cultural powerhouse. Previous Australian performances have drawn massive crowds in Sydney and Melbourne, and Brisbane is now firmly in the spotlight as the exclusive host city for 2026.
The announcement comes as Brisbane continues to expand its international event credentials. With the 2032 Olympics on the horizon and a packed calendar of world-class events, from Brisbane Festival to World Science Festival, the Tattoo adds yet another major drawcard for domestic and international visitors alike.
Tourism and Events Queensland estimates the Tattoo could generate up to $39 million in economic benefits for the state. Queensland’s Minister for Tourism, Andrew Powell, said it highlights the state’s commitment to celebrating both cultural excellence and military heritage. “This significant event has the potential to attract crowds from across Australia and the world,” he said.
The event is being delivered in partnership with TEG and The Entertainment Lab, with support from RACQ, the Queensland Government, and Brisbane City Council. RACQ’s 1.7 million members will have access to exclusive benefits for the event.
Tickets are expected to go fast when they go on sale, with thousands of travel packages likely to be created around this major cultural moment. For more information, visit edintattoobrisbane.com.au or follow @edinburghtattoo on social media.
