The move consolidates leadership of the two markets under a single management structure.
Nigel will officially assume the role in late October, succeeding Anil Rodricks, who has elected to depart the aviation industry.
In the meantime, both Nigel and Anil are working closely to facilitate a seamless transition and ensure uninterrupted business operations.
Since 2021, Nigel has led Lufthansa Group’s New Zealand operations and brings more than 20 years of aviation experience across leading airlines in Australia and New Zealand.
In his expanded role, Nigel will be responsible for the regional commercial performance of Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings, a network which connects Australasian travellers to more than 300 destinations globally.
He will work closely with the Group’s sales teams to strengthen their world-class network and deepening partnerships with the local travel trade.
# Linkd Tourism has been appointed to represent The Great American West in Australia and New Zealand, with activity commencing immediately.
The account will be directed by Michael Cassis, Linkd Tourism’s Account Director, with Dylan Hearne leading trade and consumer marketing activity.

The Great American West region comprises the states of Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. It offers wide-open spaces, national parks, Western heritage and Indigenous culture.
