This will be the highest frequency ever operated on the route between Guangzhou and Sydney.

The uplift adds 74 return flights and nearly 44,000 extra seats over the season, with services growing from 21 to 28 per week.

This expansion gives passengers more choice, better connectivity and greater flexibility during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

The schedule will operate on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring 28 business class seats and 269 economy class seats.

“We’re proud to keep building Sydney Airport’s role as Australia’s gateway to China,” said Greg Botham, Sydney Airport Group Executive Aviation Growth and Group Strategy.

“China Southern Airlines’ growth in Sydney will help push total seat capacity between Sydney and China to over 53,000 per week by the end of 2025, with the additional services boosting tourism, while delivering new export opportunities for NSW businesses.”

The new services will ensure passengers enjoy seamless one-stop connections via Guangzhou to major Chinese cities like Beijing and Shanghai.

“This enhancement reflects our ongoing commitment to serving the Australian market and meeting growing travel demand between our nations,” said Jason Sun, Regional General Manager, China Southern Airlines.

“The additional frequencies provide travellers with more options and greater schedule flexibility, whether visiting family, conducting business, or exploring new destinations. We ensure convenient connections through Guangzhou to the rest of the world.

“As we celebrate 25 years of operations in Sydney, this expansion demonstrates China Southern Airlines’ confidence in the market’s potential.

“We look forward to welcoming more passengers aboard and continuing to deliver exceptional travel experiences that bridge cultures and create lasting memories.”
