Virgin Australia has launched Toy Tickets, giving teddy bears, cuddly toys and cherished travel companions their very own boarding pass.
Inspired by the viral reunion of a young Virgin Australia guest and his beloved teddy bear after it was left behind on a flight to Perth, the story captured hearts across Australia and around the world, showing just how much children love their toys.
With more than 1.2 million kids flying with Virgin Australia in 2025, the airline knows a favourite teddy or toy is often an essential part of the journey.
Toy Tickets now celebrate these special travel companions and add a little extra magic to family holidays.
From today, children can request a personalised boarding pass for their favourite teddy or cuddly travel companion at Virgin Australia check-in and Lounges nationwide.
The launch is part of Virgin Australia’s collaboration with Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5, which includes a “Toy Story 5” themed aircraft featuring the film’s much-loved characters, Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear, plus a range of onboard and on-the-ground experiences.
“The global response to reuniting a young boy with his lost teddy was extraordinary, with messages pouring in from all corners of the world,” said Libby Minogue, Virgin Australia Chief Marketing and Customer Operations Officer.
“It reminded us just how important these treasured companions are to children. With more than two million children flying with us every year, we know many young travellers bring a favourite toy along for the journey and how much it means when those special items make it safely home.
“Toy Tickets are a uniquely Virgin Australia way of celebrating these special travel companions and make family holidays even more memorable from the moment our guests arrive at the airport.”
