Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has launched the fourth of its weekly themes in October’s Cruise Month campaign, celebrating Luxury Cruising and the growing variety of experiences available to high-end travellers.
This week’s initiatives will focus on some of the most rewarding experiences available in international travel, as a growing fleet of luxury cruise ships bring contemporary design, fine cuisine and authentic cultural encounters to the fore.
“Luxury cruising is one of the biggest growth areas in travel right now, and the investment cruise lines are channeling into sophisticated new ships and new experiences is incredible,” said Joel Katz, CLIA Executive Director in Australasia.
“Guests are increasingly looking for the extraordinary when they sail, and luxury cruise lines are responding with spectacular new ships and customised experiences that give travellers a more intimate connection with the destinations they visit.”
CLIA will mount an extensive social media campaign for this year’s Cruise Month, aimed at new-to-cruise travellers as well as established cruising fans.
Through a rolling program of imagery and videos on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, the campaign will invite travellers to explore cruise options through their local CLIA-certified travel agent.
This year’s Cruise Month campaign is again following four weekly themes – Ocean Cruising, River Cruising, Expedition Cruising, and Luxury Cruising.
Under the banner #LoveCruise, activities showcase the huge diversity of cruise lines and experiences available in each category and highlight the advantages of booking a cruise through a CLIA-certified travel agent.
CLIA travel agent members have been equipped with a Cruise Month toolkit that includes the latest promotions and opportunities available from cruise lines.
They will also be able to join an expanded program of Cruise Month training webinars to ensure they have the latest insight as they plan their clients’ travel.
Australian and New Zealand travellers can visit www.cruising.org.au and use the Find a Cruise Specialist search function to connect with a CLIA cruise specialist travel agent in their local area.
