Qantas has launched a sale across its Pacific network with more than 180,000 discounted seats to eight island destinations including Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Samoa and Norfolk Island.

The sale comes as Australians continue to head to the islands in record numbers, with more than 430,000 trips taken to Fiji in 2025-26, an increase of more than five per cent on the previous year.

Trips to Fiji alone were up almost 14 per cent year-on-year as of August 2025 and one in every 30 overseas trips taken by Australians is to the Pacific Islands.

The week-long sale includes economy return fares from $579 from Brisbane to Port Vila, with travel available on select dates between January and September 2027, including the drier months from May to September, when skies are clearer and conditions are at their best for snorkelling and diving.

“From a winter break on Norfolk Island and a week in Fiji to diving in Palau and Vanuatu, there’s something here for every kind of island getaway, whether it’s a couples’ escape, a family holiday or a trip with friends,” said Cam Wallace, CEO Qantas International.

Other economy return fares start from:

# $599 from Sydney to Fiji, with travel on select dates between January 26 and March 22, 2027, once the summer holiday crowds have thinned and the islands are at their lush, green best.

# $599 from Brisbane and Sydney to Norfolk Island, with travel available from June to August 2027, when the island is at its most peaceful, with mild days for exploring its walking trails and World Heritage-listed convict sites. Brisbane departures start from June 1, in time for Bounty Day celebrations on June 8.

# $609 from Brisbane to Noumea in New Caledonia, with travel dates between February and August 2027, including the cooler, drier months from April to August that suit exploring the UNESCO World Heritage-listed lagoon.

# $699 from Sydney to Tonga, with travel dates from July 24, 2027, in time for humpback whale season, when visitors can swim with the whales as they arrive to breed and calve.

# $799 from Brisbane to Palau, with travel available from late November 2026 and again from January to March 2027, during the dry season, when seas are calmer and the diving and snorkelling is at its clearest.

# $799 from Brisbane to the Solomon Islands, with travel on select dates between January and September 2027, including the drier months from May to September, which are well suited to exploring the reefs and World War II wrecks around Honiara.

Business fares are also on sale, from $1,099 return from Brisbane and Sydney to Norfolk Island, $1,209 from Brisbane to New Caledonia and $1,539 from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne to Vanuatu.
