The brief northern summer window for Arctic expedition travel is now open, when extended daylight hours, milder conditions and access make exploration possible.
Viking’s second Arctic season is also underway with the 13-day ‘Into the Northwest Passage’ voyage aboard Viking Octantis kicking things off, with departures operating through to September 29.
Three itineraries are available for the 2026 season, aboard Viking Octantis and Viking Polaris, who were both designed specifically for polar regions.
‘Into the Northwest Passage’ sails roundtrip from Nuuk, the 15-day ‘Canada and Greenland Explorer’ travels from Toronto to Nuuk and the 27-day ‘Canada and the Northwest Passage’ connects Nuuk and Toronto in either direction.
Up to 36 specialists accompany every voyage, including scientists, naturalists, ornithologists, geologists, historians and kayak guides, while a dedicated Science Laboratory enables guests to contribute to ongoing citizen science research throughout their journey.
Guests can kayak among icebergs, join Zodiac landings to remote Arctic communities and observe wildlife from Nordic balcony staterooms and dedicated observation spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows.
