Trafalgar has officially joined Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) in Australasia as a River Cruise Marketing Affiliate.

The partnership signals a strategic expansion for the brand as it prepares to debut its European river cruise program this April.

By joining CLIA’s 6,000-strong community of travel agents in the region, Trafalgar aims to bridge the gap between guided touring and the thriving river cruise sector.

“River cruising has become one of the most innovative and inspired areas of travel in many parts of the world and we can see this reflected in the growing enthusiasm shown by travellers from across our region,” said Joel Katz, CLIA Executive Director Australasia.

“Trafalgar is an excellent example of the incredible diversity we now see in river cruising and the extraordinary experiences that can be enjoyed on the world’s inland waterways, so we look forward to sharing this with our CLIA travel agent community.”

Launching this April, Trafalgar will transition its signature “hassle-free” travel philosophy to the water with two inaugural journeys on the Rhine and Danube.

“We’ve always focused on connecting travellers with the heart and soul of a destination,” said Melissa DaSilva, Deputy CEO of TTC Tour Brands.

“Now, we’re bringing that unmatched experience to Europe’s iconic rivers. Our strategy is simple: unlock the best of the waterways through trusted Trafalgar touchpoints, including our much-loved ‘Be My Guest’ and MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experiences.”

For the Australasian trade, the CLIA partnership represents a commitment to education and sales support.

Andrew Young, Senior Vice President Sales Oceania for TTC Tour Brands, emphasised the value of the association’s network.

“We understand the vital work CLIA does to educate and inspire agents to sell river cruises,” Mr Young stated. “In light of our 2026 launch, we are delighted to join the association and support our partners in this growing category.”
