Viking has unveiled a new 15-day Japan Discovery itinerary, sailing roundtrip from Tokyo and circumnavigating Japan with a crossing of the Sea of Japan to the southeast tip of the Korean Peninsula.

The new voyage features three ports new to Viking, Aomori, Niigata and Hakata, alongside overnights in Tokyo and Shimizu and a day in Busan, South Korea. Three relaxed sea days are built into the itinerary.

Highlights include an overnight stay in Tokyo exploring the refined world of geisha arts, an Osaka city tour visiting the third-century Sumiyoshi Taisha shrine, and a scenic excursion to Shimizu taking in Mt Udo and the Miho Peninsula. Optional shore excursions include a Geisha Performance and Dinner in the historic Furumachi district, a Yame Tea and Sake Experience and a visit to Noboribetsu’s dramatic steaming “Hell Valley” hot springs landscape.

Four departures are available: August 15, August 29, September 12 and September 26, 2028. Prices start from $12,995 per person in a Veranda Stateroom for the August 15 departure.
