Australians aren’t giving up on travel, they’re just rethinking it.
New booking data from Minor Hotels shows a clear shift toward short, close-to-home getaways that deliver maximum reward with minimal effort, a trend the group is calling “comfort travel.”
“We’re seeing a strong appetite for destinations closer to home that feel safe and accessible, while still offering memorable, high-quality experiences…and Australia delivers that in spades,” said Craig Hooley, Minor Hotels Australasia Chief Operating Officer.
The average length of stay across Minor Hotels’ top Australian destinations sits between 2.3 and 2.9 nights, reflecting a growing preference for micro-escapes that fit around busy schedules and tighter budgets.
Adelaide tops the list of in-demand destinations, followed by the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Brisbane and Broome, each offering a distinct mix of culture, lifestyle and scenery within easy reach.
To make it even easier to book, Minor Hotels is running an Easter sale until April 21, offering 20 per cent off when guests stay two nights, with an additional 10 per cent for DISCOVERY loyalty members.
Featured properties include Oaks Adelaide Horizons Suites from $143 per night, Oaks Gold Coast Hotel from $199 per night, Oaks Melbourne on Collins Suites from $135 per night and Oaks Brisbane Lexicon Suites from $251 per night.
The offer is valid for stays between now and September 29.
