A new nine-day China itinerary will combine cultural touring with traditional wellness practices across Chongqing and Jiuli.

The ‘In Pursuit of Wellness in China’ program from Wendy Wu Tours is designed around seven elements of wellbeing, including mindfulness, qigong, traditional Chinese medicine, reiki, hot springs, Chinese herbal meals and Miao medicine.

The itinerary centres on Chongqing, where travellers will take part in daily meditation, qigong and reiki sessions led by Reiki Master Peter Hui, alongside experiences including reflexology, traditional Chinese medicine and mineral hot springs.

Cultural touring is also included, with sightseeing in Chongqing before the journey continues to Jiuli for experiences focused on Miao culture and traditional medicine.

The tour concludes with a river cruise through Chongqing and a drone show.

Sonia Orrego, Wendy Wu Tours Head of Product, said the itinerary was designed to give travellers a different way to experience China beyond conventional sightseeing.

“Wellness travel can offer a different way to experience a destination and China has centuries of knowledge and traditions that lend themselves naturally to this type of journey,” Ms Orrego said.

“Travellers will have the opportunity to slow down, learn about traditional practices and experience the culture in a more hands-on way, while still enjoying some of Chongqing’s most memorable attractions.”

The tour includes international flights and current taxes, four-star accommodation, domestic transport, guided sightseeing, entrance fees and meals, with a maximum group size of 22 travellers.

Prices currently start from $6,880 per person based on twin share with departures available in 2027 and 2028.
