A locally-owned travel agency in Tamworth in New South Wales has opened a second location as part of a wider expansion that also includes a refreshed brand identity.

Formerly known as Chris Watson Travel, the business has rebranded as Chris Watson Cruise & Travel to better reflect its focus on cruise holidays, escorted group tours and personalised travel planning.

The new location at Windmill Hill joins the agency’s existing Peel Street location and has been designed as a more relaxed retail space, featuring a coffee corner, feature bar and areas for clients to sit and discuss their travel plans.

Chris Watson, Managing Director, said the expansion reflected the company’s continued investment in Tamworth and its confidence in the region.

“Opening our second location in Tamworth is a huge milestone for us,” Mr Watson said. “We’re incredibly proud to continue investing in our hometown, creating local employment opportunities and showing our confidence in the future of this great city.”

The family-owned business has also maintained a strong focus on community support, contributing to charities, fundraisers and local organisations including Cancer Council NSW, Ronald McDonald House and Talk2MeBro.

Kevin Anderson, Member for Tamworth, praised Mr Watson’s long-standing commitment to the city, his passion for community involvement and his willingness to support others.

“I’ve known Chris for many, many years and I have never known anyone so energetic, so giving and 100% committed to any particular project he could dip his toe in,” Mr Anderson said.

For Mr Watson, building a successful business has never been just about selling holidays. It’s about people, relationships, creating unforgettable memories and giving back to the community that has supported him along the way.

“We might sell holidays around the world, but our heart is right here in Tamworth,” Mr Watson said.

“Travel should be exciting from the moment you start dreaming about it, not just when you arrive at the airport.

“We wanted an office where people feel comfortable popping in, having a coffee, talking about their next holiday and enjoying the whole experience.

“We’ve invested in creating a space that reflects who we are professional, personal, welcoming and, most importantly, fun.”
