Journey Beyond has opened Safari Lodge at Monarto Safari Resort, South Australia’s newest luxury accommodation experience, welcoming its first guests to an all-inclusive safari retreat deep within the Mallee Plains.
“We set out to create something that doesn’t exist anywhere else in Australia, an all-inclusive safari lodge where you can experience Africa’s most magnificent wildlife without leaving the country,” said Gerry Ryan, the vision behind the project.
Emily Bourke, South Australian Minister for Tourism, said Safari Lodge was a game-changer for the state.
“This is the kind of transformative, high-value tourism offering that attracts discerning travellers from interstate and around the world and showcases the very best of what South Australia has to offer,” Ms Bourke said.
The lodge features 20 luxury safari tents, each with a private outdoor deck overlooking the Wild Africa precinct, king or twin beds, ensuite bathroom and private dressing room. Two accessibility tents are also available.
Guests are taken on an exclusive safari adventure aboard a custom-built open-sided 4WD Safari Landcruiser across 550 hectares of wildlife habitat.
The all-inclusive experience covers all meals and beverages, showcasing South Australian produce through breakfasts and multi-course dinners.
Beyond the safari, guests can enjoy a pool and private plunge pools, gym, pickleball court and outdoor lounge.
Treatments are available at Marula Day Spa at the neighbouring Monarto Safari Resort, featuring South Australia’s own Jurlique skincare.
A portion of every stay contributes to Zoos South Australia’s conservation efforts with native and exotic species.
