Malaysia Airlines is enhancing its connectivity with additional capacity to Brisbane in response to growing demand.

Brisbane flights will increase from six weekly services to daily from October 25, with the airline deploying its new-generation A330neo aircraft on the route.

“We are continuing to grow with purpose, strengthening our network where there is demand, reconnecting established markets and expanding into new ones, while investing in the capabilities that support our airlines and customers,” said Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Airlines Group (MAG).

“As we strengthen Kuala Lumpur’s role as a regional aviation hub, it is equally important that we continue to enhance the experience we offer from the moment our customers step onboard.”

The Brisbane increase is among a range of network enhancements announced by MAG, including the return of Malaysia Airlines’ Busan service, new Firefly flights to Kunming, increased frequencies to Fukuoka and Surabaya, and the development of a new catering facility to further elevate the onboard dining experience.

The developments across its airline and aviation services businesses continues to build on its cautious growth momentum under the company’s Long-Term Business Plan.

Building on the insourcing of Malaysia Airlines’ catering operations in 2023 and the establishment of MAGCS in September 2025, customer satisfaction for in-flight dining has risen from 72% to 78%, while catering on-time performance now consistently stands at 99.9%.

The next phase will see the development of MAGCS’ own in-flight catering facility near KLIA, with groundworks having commenced in July 2026.

Targeted for completion in Q4 2028, with operations expected to begin in Q2 2029, the facility will produce approximately 50,000 meals daily – almost double the current handling capacity – while creating employment opportunities and supporting MAG’s airlines and third-party carriers.
